I replicated the steel washer coil spacer from the tech library. Now I dont know what else I need, If anything, and I dont know how to put them in. If someone could help me out with great descriptions and or pictures, that will be awesome!!!!!:bye:

Easy...

Jack up the truck, remove the tire, put a jackstand under the frame.... ideally youd jack it up high enough that the coils can extend as much as possible... ie: no weight on the suspension. Disconnect the bottom of the shock. There is a large nut inside the coil, on my 94 4x4, it is 28mm. Remove it. Compress the coil, if you need to. You may be able to just step on the hub to over-extend the spring, and pop it out. Pop on the spacer, and put it back together.

Easy man, easy.

your hardware is actually 1-1/8" (its an english thread size) but i agree, 28mm fits much better. i have a 'special' socket i use for mine. how thick are our spacers? you will need an alignment when you are done. heres a pic that shows you exactly how things should go. (my spacer was polyurethane, not washers)

Kunar, what size is that spacer? How much thread did you have left? Did you have to get adjustable camber bushings? thanks.

if i recall, it was about 1-1/8" tall (1-1/2" to 1-3/4" lift?) and i do have adjustable camber bushings. its not really a coil spacer, it was actually a body mount bushing i had from an incomplete set but it has worked great. it squashed a little once i had weight on it and i did eventually have to go back and tighten it up just a hair. and since i still have probably 1/4" of threads left, i have thought about putting a couple washers under it.

is that a d28 ttb? how did you get the stock camber spacer out? ive tried heating and hammering my before but no luck...

pull the knuckle off, youll probably screw up the ball joint and have to replace it anyways. once its apart, the bushing will pop out

I have no pictures, but I'll tell you what I did. I had an extreme spring sag on my 4.0 2WD, and I used steel washers for a total of 2.25" lift (unwelded, & still works great). I bought a 1-1/8" box wrench from Harbor Freight for $5.50, and we will all use that tool later. I did not have enough thread left to bring my height back to where I wanted it (originally had too much positive camber, and lifting it just corrected the problem). So, I went and bought 2 new Grade-8 bolts that were 10" long (stock bolts are 8") with the coarse thread and replaced those. It was worked well and there is no interference of the springs and the 3/4" of thread above the top retainer nut.

You will need an alignment. Sorry, I cannot tell you about the camber bushing suggestion since I have never needed to use them before on my ranger (used them on another vehicle that was dropped, however).

Good luck on your work! :headbang:

The spacer is around 1 1/4 inches tall.

AgPete,

I have too much positive camber too. And the bolt only has about an eighth of an inch left.. So I assume that I need that ten incher yeah?

I reckon. Quite simple once you get everything you need. Just taking out a bolt and putting another in. Let us know how it goes... :clapping:

One Side Done

I had to :icon_welder: more washers on because the new 10" bolt threads werent deep enough. Now I know it may sound rediculous, but now I have like a 2 1/2" lift goin on now. Ill have pics later
