I know what the codes mean but I have some questions.
1. I replaced oxygen sensors
2. I replaced fuel filter
3. I sprayed either to see if I had a vacumm leak and the engine didn't rev while I was spraying it around the motor.
4. I cleaned the MAF. BTW It used to take a week for the codes to come up, now after I cleaned the MAF its comning on like the next day after I clear the codes.
5. I have a gasket kit from Felpro, valve covers & upper intake gaskets waiting to be installed.
Whats my next steps? What needs to be replaced?
To anyone reading this and have seen how many posts I have made with trouble here lately this is why you don't let you truck go untill it can't go anymore. All this crap builds up and when you need your truck the most it won't be ready for you.....So I am slowly getting all these little problems took care of.

Need some more info in the truck, but those codes usually come up from a leaking vacuum line.

Ok. Check your vacuum lines. One is probably cracked.

check the pcv valve vacuum line, they are bad about cracking and sucking air.

SOHC ?? Most likely the upper intake manifold gaskets.

i got the codes right now too. i'm gonna wait til spring to fix it..

i tried cleaning the MAF, codes came back 3 days later.

My motor runs great and its quiet, I have had issues with my tranny but I believe I almost got them all worked out. I am too the point where I want to start saving up for a new motor and tranny and buying it from ford. So I would be good for another 137k...

After I cleaned my MAF my truck drives and idles like crap now...Maybe I have a bad MAF?

You may have broken a sensor wire and now need a new sensor. Since you have lean codes for both banks I'd say prolly a bad line. Check the one to the PCV, they are usually good for leaks.

Ok guys. I have been putting this off for a while but tomorrow morning
I am going to start tearing down to
1. fix my leaking valve gaskets
2. new intake gaskets
3. new pcv valve
4. new maf
5. new intake air temp sensor.
While I have all of this tore down I am going to be looking for broke or cracked vaccum lines. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I might as well replace while I am this far tore down? I don't care to spend a little coin in hopes of not having to do this again.

ok guys I found a little problem but I am not sure whats happend here. On the driver side valve cover, you have the pcv valve with a big hose comning off, this hose has a T on it with a small thin black rubber vaccum line comning off the T going somewhere. Where does this go? At the end of mine someone has put a bolt into the hose. So this hose is unpluged from something....Again this is on a 2000 ranger 4.0ohv

A picture of the line/area in question would be helpful. Most of us could probably tell you where it goes by looking at a pic, but sometimes this stuff is hard to picture without one. Without a pic I'd have to guess it probably runs to the vac nipple on the drivers side of the upper intake.
