codes 302 and 306


I have the 4 banger. I am not very familiar with these motors. I don't think it has an ignition module but what is the equivalent of the module that this has and could that be the issue
 
PCM fires the coil by giving and taking away ground, similar to how the old TFI modules did it. Its still based off the cam position sensor. If you have a vac pump you could always check the EGR valve by applying vacuum at idle. It should die right off when you do that. If you pull the line off the EGR vavle and it gets better, I'd be looking at a new valve. The only reason I ignored that so far is that it would be more likely to cause a P0300 code, random miss.

If the center coil has constant ground that is not good. But you need to check that with the engine running, not easy to do.

Went and looked up the pin point test on Fordtechservice, time to go get and injector test light. Also, watch the crank pulley and see if it wobbles. That can apparently cause this problem too.
 
I had a friend come by last night and check my truck for grounding and they were not grounded. I only have a tester where you do not set anything. I miss read it. Sorry foe the confusion. So now now what do I need to do ?

what was not grounded? The coilpack?
