You guys have a particular code reader that is inexpensive and readily available that you prefer?

I have a MAC Tools one can't remember the part number of it. It is very simple but works well for what I do with it.

actron has a unit under $100. I have CP9185 and I love it.

For my OBDII cars I have one that I bought from Harbor Freight. I think the brand is Cen Tech (or something like that w/o going out to the garage and looking at it). Paid $35 for it on sale. It has always worked and hasn't given me any trouble in the almost 4 years I owned it. For my Ranger I lucked out. I paid $5 for a working Equus 3145 at a garage sale. If it's for the 87 listed in your description that's the one you'll need. They're under $40 new at places like Autozone, Orielly's, etc.

The OBD-I readers are all very cheap now since they aren't used much anymore. Just do a search for Ford OBD-I and you will find them anywhere fron $25 to $45.
