Code 224

MY 1994 2.3l ranger is pulling code 224 1,2,3,4 circuit failure. so far i brought the icm into autozone to have them test it, it failed the first time but passed the next 3 times. It failed on the field part.. whatever that means. I just checked the resistance that the coils have. On both coils i got 1.o ohms for primary and on the secondary i got 12.3k ish for the front and 13.2k ish for the back coil. in the haynes manual it says they should be between 6.5k-11.5k ohms. So are both my coils bad or is it okay. My truck runs but it has a rough idle and when i accelerate from a stop it takes a second/like its stumbling and then it will rev high and move. So what else could my problem be

the coils are fine. anything from 11k-15k is normal. The ICM failing the test is kind of concerning. Could also be a failing crank position sensor, faulty wiring, or a bad ground somewhere. Is your truck a california truck or not?

I had this code persistently. One dark night I opened the hood to look for arcing(sparks) and sure enough...there was several points the plug wires were arcing. I replaced the plugs and wires, insulated any potential arc points with spaghetti insulation and man I'll tell you...truck has never ran better and haven't seen that code since! Get platinum plugs.
