i need a new clutch and i'm jus gunna put an OE kit back in but, you all said unless i upgrade most kits are basically the same ... alright. so pretty much OE clutchs are all the same.. but is an internal master slave cylinder better... because some kits have it and some kits jus have the pilot bearing and slave cylinder seperate... which is better, preferred, or shunned upon!?
 
since you have it apart it would be a good idea to replace the slave.
 
go ahead and change it, you have to pull the tranny to change it anyway, do it now and hopefully you can go to the next clutch change w/o having to deal w/ a blown slave seal.
 
I have looked at the differences in kits. O'Reilly and Autozone kits(fenco?) They suck. You need the warranty that comes with them.

However, I just picked up a kit from NAPA. It looks totally different and ALOT better quality. It did cost a little more, but I think I'll be alot more happy with this one.

I would also consider going with a kit from the dealership. They actually aren't to terribly priced, but no real warranty.

Yes it's a very good idea just to replace the pilot bearing and slave cylinder while you're in there.

Oh, and by all means STAY AWAY from rebuilt/resurfaced clutch kits.
 
I just threw an Exedy clutch set on my 93 with a new O'Reilly Flywheel. The clutch set is $165 shipped at Clutch City Online. Supposedly Exedy is OEM, which may or may not be a good thing for the slave.... I don't know what the dealership will want but I doubt it's a penny less than $165. I recommend CCO, they were quick and did a good job.
 
i've always liked and been suggested LUK clutches, every time me or someone i know used them, they were identical to the OEM ones. theres a real sweat place here in CO. called clutch dr. its a big ass van and they drive where ever you are doing the clutch job, bring you the new parts, and are able to resurface your old flywheel in the van and it takes them about 30 min or so. they have even been know to overlook your work and help out with any problems you are having. i'll never get another clutch from anywhere else, they are absolutly amazing.
 
in my 3.3 turbo build ill be using a centerforce 10 inch clutch w/ the centerforce throwout bearing, and ill be installing a new slave, ill let you know how she performs at 300 hp. lol ill also be using a fidanza aluminum flywheel to help reduce weight and an underdrive, that should free up some power.
