Clutch Won't Engage: New master and slave installed

I installed a new Master and new Slave cylinder and my clutch won't engage. I also installed a new pressure plate and clutch. What might be the problem? I tried bleeding the system with no luck....what tips do you have?

it wont engage? thats weird the problem usual is the clutch wont disengage or did you make a typo?

Either way, I can't shift into gear. I got no pressure in the pedal.

This is stupid to ask (but someone has done it)...

Did you hook the master cylinder pushrod up to the clutch pedal?


Bleeding the entire system is fairly easy. It's necessary for some people to have two others helping (one to do fluid level, one to pump pedal, and one to open the bleeder valve)

You're having problems getting it bled? If that's the case then do some searching first. I don't know if you did or not, but there's lots of topics out there about people getting theirs bled properly.

Yup, that was done.....(clutch pedal to pushrod to master cylinder....done) I'm even able to start the truck, but no luck putting it in gear. I even did what the recommended online. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgNTDGwcjZc) I hope this is something stupid that I just need to do. I hope I don't have to redo this entire job....or I'm going to need more beer.

so you mean the clutch won't DIS engage. when the clutch is engaged everything is spinning and it won't go into gear. well, i got lucky. when i installed my new slave i just cracked open the bleed screw for 10 seconds and i was done, bled. try getting a vacuum bleeder?
