i have a 1993 ranger with the 3.0 and ive got the transmission pulled back but i cant drop it because i cant figure out how to get the hydraulic line off the transmission i have the tool but i cant get it in the grove to pull it any help is appreciated!

pull the master off of the firewall. this way you wont need to bleed the system either.

Get some brake cleaner and try to clean up around the white clip and maybe try a couple of screw drivers to try and push in the white clip. After you get it in so far it should pull out real easy.

how hard is it to pull the master cylinder off the fire
wall?

Could be a liitle tight, but I guess the main problem would be you could end up breaking the clips that hold the actuator shaft to the clutch pedal. My understanding is that those are meant to be broken when you remove the cylinder. Besides that it's only a matter of 2 or 3 screws that need to be removed.

On the draining issue, I thought the whole point behind the type of connector used for attaching the line to the Slave Cyl. was to prevent the line from draining once you unplug it. I might be completely wrong, though I don't remember having any issues with the line draining when unplugging it ... I successfully used Razor's approach when I replaced my clutch/Slave cylinder.

Hope this answers your question.
