im wondering how i would bypass this? for some reason mine isn't working correct. when i put the clutch in to start the truck it does nothing as if the clutch isn't in. so what i have been doing for the last month is reaching down and sliding the sensor up the rod to get the truck to start. lets just say it gets old after a while especially when you forget to take it out of gear :D so is there anyway to bypass the sensor completely?

That switch either opens or closes a circuit when it is working correctly.. Either one can easily be wired around. After wireing around the switch you should be able to start the engine in gear with the clutch out! Meaning you can move the vehicle with the starter..
That thing is a safety switch that is intended to not allow accidental starting of the vehicle.

how would i wire around it? i know its just a safety thing but its just not working right ha

Check the wire/wires at the switch. Ohm them or it to see what it is doing when the vehicle won't start.. Then make the wires do the opposite. The wires are either open when it won't start or closed. The switch MAY simply be a ground with one wire. It should be very easy when looking at the switch itself.

I guessing the clutch switch just completes the start position of the igntion switch. After the engine starts and you release the key to the run position the clutch switch will open and close with the clutch but have no effect on the circuit. Jumping the wires across the switch should take the switch out of the start circuit. However, as Big Jim has pointed out, this is a safety circuit and any override will put you and possibly others at risk. You've already admitted to forgeting to take the truck out of gear, now imagine doing that when someone is in your path. This is not an expensive fix and should be done.
