Clutch replacement?

Hello everyone,
I will be replacing my M5OD in my 94 4.0l 4X4 shortly. I was wondering what kind of clutch/ slave cylinder to get? Should I go for a stock OEM replacement clutch or is there a low end preformance clutch for around the same price range? Also, are there any recommendations on slave cylinders?

Any help is appriciated,
Thanks!

Any opinions?

Any opinions on the following clutches?
I found some good deals but I want to make sure that I am not buying junk.

F1 STAGE 2 CLUTCH KIT EXPLORER RANGER
by Gripforce "the clutch specialists"

XTR RACING STAGE 1 CLUTCH KIT FORD EXPLORER RANGER 4.0L OHV
by Xtr racing clutch

93-97 RANGER/EXPLORER 4.0L eCM® STAGE 1 HD CLUTCH KITby eClutchmaster Corp.

I just put in a LUK factory style replacement yesterday. Cost me $125, works great in my Navajo.

I found a stage 2 F1 clutch by "Gripforce" that I like but I do not know the company. It's also around $125

Like I said, I like the stock style clutches. If you want a beefy aftermarket clutch for racing or for big tires and mud - get one of the name brand ones that run like $300-400. Anything else is probably going to be pure luck if it works good or not. 5 seconds of googling discovers that the F1 brand clutch is garbage in Honda applications and the XTR is the same clutch. Apparently eclutchmasters is trying to fool people into thinking they are buying a clutchmasters clutch, two different companies, and clutchmasters isn't even a "good" clutch. Google man, learn how to use it. If it sounds too good to be true, and has a weird or "cool" name, 9 times out of 10 it is garbage. Learn to buy your parts somewhere besides ebay - I generally go to an actual parts store.

I read your other thread. The clutch line you asked about is easy - where it goes into the tranny, it's got a plug. Clean it off so you can see what you are looking at, there is a white ring that you push into the plug - towards the tranny - and when it is flush - yank the plug outward, I used pliers to pull it out. I used a flat screwdriver to slowly push it in, but there is an actual tool for doing this if you want.

I have taken the clutch out and in looking at it the actual clutch pressure plate looks fine. The spring fingers are still strong. I was thinking about just replacing the clutch plate which I dont think is even that bad, though I do not have a new clutch plate to compare it to. Any thoughts? Good idea/bad idea?
Also I heard that the freeze plugs on the top come off causing the trans to loose all of its fluid. I also heard that there is a better replacment for them that someone on here sells. Could you please inform me on how to purchase those?

Eh, I never bothered with that. Mine are fine, it's not a terribly common issue. Just get a whole clutch kit - like I said, mine was $125 total. It holds fine, now that I have it broken in I have abused it a little with some rock crawling, pit wall climbing, and posi burnouts on pavement with 31' tires - plus I have an explorer (heavy, heavy truck), and it works flawless. Pedal is a bit lighter that it was before, my old pressure plate had a rusty ford logo on it, but I doubt it was the original seeing as how I have over 200k miles on this thing.
