Good day,

I have been lurking around these forums for years and have found a lot of great tech info whenever I have had a problem with my Ranger.

My latest issue is I had a clutch installed in August of last year and it seems to work great. Now what is happening is when I push the pedal to the floor it is not completely disengaging the clutch. I will still roll forward with the clutch pedal to the floor and I cannot shift into 1st from a stop at all. I have to rev match to go thru the gears while driving. I am assuming this is something to do with the master or slave cylinder on the clutch. Also the pedal seems to vary as in sometimes have very little pedal and others I seem to have more pedal. Can anyone give me some pointers on what may be causing this problem?

Thank you for your time.

prolly the slave cylinder. you gotta drop the tranny out again. bummer. but it is a relatively easy fix.

That is what I figured I would have to do. Ah well should have done it the first time.

Thank you for your input.

Could be the slave, but probably not. Feel around the bottom of the bell housing through the view port...check your fingers for break fluid. Check your reserviour level. If all that checks OK, then my guess is when they disconnected the slave they introduced some air. Try bleeding it properly before dropping the tranny again and putting a new slave in, because i guarantee you it will give you the same problems with a new slave if you dont bleed properly. Search "clutch bleeding" in the forums for a ton of threads on this job....there are some tricks you must use.
