Hi all,

I have a 89 2.9 5 speed ranger.

When its cold out i let the truck warm up for a few minutes before driving but as soon as i do everytime i release the clutch in first gear to accelerate there is a squeeling of some sort.

Any ideas?

id love to know also i have the same 89 ranger as the guy who posted this and my clutch makes this squishing noise every now and then also my ranger has around 300,000 miles on it and idk if the clutch has ever been replaced ( i bought it off craigslist about a month ago for $40 and it runs and drives )

WOW, nice find Hanson! could you elaborate on the "squishing noise" does it sound like a burst of Air?

it only happens every once and a while and after a while it goes away and then a little later will come back it happens when i release the clutch i dont really kno how to describe the sound it just sort of sounds like a squishing squeak sound

almost sounds like it could be the same noise as my noise, but no one on the site seems to know what the noise is...

My bet would be the throwout bearing. My 89' had that same noise in neutral.
