on my 93 4.0 ranger how do i remove the little pin in the clutch master cylinder that holds the line on that goes down to the slave cylinder???

It's a roll pin...you can punch it out with a nail punch...a very small nail punch...they come out pretty easy though...and easier if you have the master out of the truck...

i tried punching it out... it didnt even wiggle it will spin freely but wont come out

also i tried taking the whole line out to do it on a bench how in the hell do u get it out the line is all bent and twisted over the frame and WILL NOT come out

Getting the fender liner and mud flap out of the way makes it easier.

^Ditto....take the inner fender out. You'll have way more room to work, and it only takes a couple minutes to do

I have done 3 of these on my own vehicles. I didn't remove the inner fender, and it does come out. Take the master off the firewall, unhook the line, and just fish it out. Work and it and use your brain, it's not the easiest thing to do, but it's not the impossible task you make it out to be.

Then set the pin over a small socket and whack it out with a hammer and small nail. Once it's out about 1/4" grab it with some pliers and pull.

ok guys i got it out today and replaced the master cyilnder and got it all back together.. and now the clutch pedal is rock hard wont even move and wont bleed anyone have this problem???

Your line isn't engaged to the slave completely. There is a check valve at the end of the line that opens up when the line is in the whole way.

thats what i was thinking but i checked it its cliped in all the way. how far should it go in?

Until it clicks and the pedal doesn't do what you said.

ok you were right it did go in father and snaped in.. i gravity blead the line jumped in the cab and pushed the clutch and SNAP!! the push rod on my brand new master cylinder broke in half... WTF is wrong now???

Beats me, never saw that happen before.

The pushrod is made of steel on mine...almost impossible to break...are you sure it didn't just pop out of the top of the master?

Mine comes out and flops around like it's broken...but if you look up under the dash it can be put back in...

If it broke in half then you should be able to replace the shaft...or the whole master if not...

Remind me not to upset you if it is actually broken...

I just recently got my 94 ranger 4x4 3.0 5speed and the clutch keeps seeming to suck air in the system ive replaced the master cylinder and bleed it fully vertically on the bench and that fixedit for bout a week then today when i was driving home it would go into revers and i had to float the gear. then when I ran errands a little later it was shifting normal? i just dint know if anyone knew anything bout this?:icon_welder:
