I have done 3 of these on my own vehicles. I didn't remove the inner fender, and it does come out. Take the master off the firewall, unhook the line, and just fish it out. Work and it and use your brain, it's not the easiest thing to do, but it's not the impossible task you make it out to be.
Then set the pin over a small socket and whack it out with a hammer and small nail. Once it's out about 1/4" grab it with some pliers and pull.
