I just got a killer deal on an 89 BII but the clutch needs work. I put the truck in gear and let out the clutch and it acts like I've only let out the clutch halfway. Would this be a slave cylinder issue? Do I need to bleed the system? or just replace the clutch?

sounds like a slave cyl problem, i would try to bleed it and see if that helps. if not i would do the slave cyl, pilot bearing, and a clutch kit while u have it apart

Probly not a slave issue....if the slave is dead it will still grab good...just hard to disengage and switch gears....will grind alot. Sounds like the clutch is toast....either way you gotta drop the tranny.

I'm with Jesse. Clutch is toast. Go get that bad boy a new clutch and slave.

are the bolts for the front driveline torx or what? things are so full of crud it's hard to see..

They are usually T-8 inner heads with 10mm outter hexes. I usually end up half-stripping them and then pounding a t-10 in there anyway.

Thanks. Got the t-case out today. Sure are some stupid nuts for the skid plate! Throughout the week after work I'll be working on getting the tranny out. If the heat isn't too bad by the time I get home.
