I just got this 96 super 4x4 3.0 5 speed 2 weeks ago. the previous owner said it needed a rear main seal and was leaking into the clutch disc causing it to slip. I dropped the trans, inspected everything and the clutch disc was dry. I put everything new- clutch/pressure plate/throwout bearing/flywheel and a slave. i gravity bled the system and got a firm pedal- engaged half way before she would grab, yeah. here's the problem &$^%@* now it grabs all the way at the top and drives fine for a while then starts to slip real bad if i step on the gas with my foot totally off the clutch. my pedal has great pressure and isnt spongy at all, the only thing i didnt replace was the master. could my master cause this to happen ? even if it has excellent pressure ? its driving me bonkers . i dont have any leaks and the resevoir level is still at the max level. the rear main was fine, but the oil pan gasket was toast and i replaced that,oh what fun that was lol. im thinking bad master or defective pressure plate from advance auto parts. HELP
