the ignition saftey switch in my 87 ranger busted this morning and the part is no longer made what is a way to fix this some people say bypass and others say junk yard i need advice

I would just bypass it.it won't hurt anything.the only dif with bypassing it would be not having to push the clutch pedal in to start it.it should only be 2 wires to splice togethere.

^^^ Yes, or you can jumper the actual switch if it is still good...you will see where the wires connect to the switch and if you make a U shaped short piece of 14 or 16 gauge wire just stuff it into the two slots and it will bypass the switch (of course you will need to strip the coating off the wire ends before stuffing)...

You might want to tape the jumper into the switch though...I managed to kick mine out every so often and the truck would not start till I figured that out...
