clutch hydraulic line

having issue getting hydraulic line back into slave. any ideas? '93 3.0 m5od. am re-using slave no issues with unit only had in service for two years.

Was it the newer style connector with the removable clip, or the older style with the white collar you have to slide to release?
 
Open the bleeder to relieve some pressure, it should snap right in.
 
pull your white collar back, lube the rubber O ring and try it again. is be careful about any bleeders being open, air travels up remember.
 
Yeah you should have your resevoir's lid off so fluid drains down and out, just like doing a gravity bleed. Shouldn't hurt anything, just so no one pushes the clutch while its open, and the lids off so there is no vaccum.
