Do I have to pull this pin? I've got a 1986 ranger with the 2.9l v6 and FM145 trans.

Yes, you have to pull the pin out, then line will come off

Is there a trick to getting it? I spent an hour tugging and prying at it and it didn't budge

The cotter pin was to wedged on for me to pull it off so I tried cutting the ring of it to relive the pressure but I accidentally cut it all the way to the hole in the trans and so I can't pull it out. I tried pulling the master cylinder out but there wasn't room so I ended up cutting the line. Got to try and figure out how to fix my f up

go to a pull and save, pull the part you messed up.

I had my friend machine the pin, everything is fine now
