my truck clunks and pops in 4wd. the front tires still spin until recently. but what could it be. ujoints are good. been told its in the tcase. please help. thanks

I know that noise VERY Well. My mom has a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer It did the same thing. The clunking and popping IS your transfer case. Your Transfer Case,Hubs And front differential is still engaged. The BEST Way to get that fixed. Replace your transfer case motor And/or Transfer Case. IF I was you I would replace both. Either keep your original transfer case OR sell it. But it will be easier getting it rebuilt! And have a back up. Just in case the new/used one goes out. You will have the original on hand.
