clunking noise

Hot Dog! This brake problem has bert in a pickle.

Pete - you calling me a post-whore? :D

Back to the subject - When I first read this, I was thinking along the lines of Mark_88. (Just don't ever tell him that) When you back up and step on the brakes, if the shoes move enough they adjust the brake tensioner. Those things can freeze up and allow the shoes to be loose and make weird noises. I'd at least check that.

Nah, that title is reserved for RSH, since he's held that monster title for the last year or so. :shok: You're a Whore In Training, a WIT if you will.

Good call on the rear brakes. But wouldn't they cause a screech, squeal, or clink instead of a "clunk / thud?" Also, he mentioned the noise coming from the front of the vehicle.

Initially diagnosing a problem is the WORST,-ESHIRE you have good intentions, but I don't think it's the rear brakes. :icon_rofl:

.

all this talk makes me hungry we should all get togther for a BBQ/weekend wheeling adventure sometime :icon_thumby: :icon_cheers: but havent looked into the truck yet been working 16 hour shifts all week will let u guys know this weekend

clunk u feel in floorboard

just an educated guess but it could be a broken motor mount the engine will twist and lift up the side with the broken mount and when u hit the brakes it drops back into place
