I recently purchased a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport with the 4.0 V6 and 60,000 miles. I just noticed today that it is making a clunking noise when I turn to the left. It definitly sounds like it is coming from the front end. This is the first time I have heard it make this noise and am wondering if anyone can give me any insight as to what may be the problem?

it's probably a ball joint or tie rod. Jack each wheel up and put your hands at 6 and 12 o'clock try and move the wheel. if there is movement in the wheel it is ball joint related. put your hands at 3 and 6 and try to move the wheel if it move a lot it it could be a loose wheel bearing or a bad tierod.
