Close to no room behind seats... sub and speakers? lol

Isnt this only something like 200 watts? I would need alot more than that lol. Especailly in a vehicle. :/ i havent looked at it very much because im in school atm. Wouldnt getting just those speakers and a amp for them be good bass wise also?

yup yup, do that first, then you could add a sub later.

build together piece by piece, you can buy better stuff this way.

Ok so im waiting a check or 2 to get the speakers. So untill then i am running some pioneer truck speakers i picked up locally for real cheap a while back. They are 200 watts peak (i forgot rms) and have 8" subs and then a tweet and port in the top. Fits perfectly behind my seat and sounds pretty good. Anyways, i was wondering what your thoughts are now with this... should i go with the polks like currently planned, or should i find great 8" subs to replace the ones on these boxes? The speakers have a tweet in them also, so it wouldnt make very much sense having great subs set up without a amp.

Im most likely just gonna get the polks and far in the future maybe get a sub put in as well. I love bass, but putting in a sub right now will be alot of work, planning, and money. I also need to start saving for my v8 swap im hoping to do in the near future. So just go with the polks? :P Thanks alot for the help

i'd personally rather have a good base to build on... think of good quality speakers as your bottom level of the pyramid...

i'd say this is the perfect way to upgrade from a stock truck (audio wise)
new head unit
new primary speakers (so front doors/dash/etc)
secondary speakers (rear, etc)
upgrade to component speakers on primary if you wish
amp speakers if applicable (or add sub)
add sub (or amp speakers)

and then keep repeating this until you have spent all your money and you look back and you find out that you've spent more on audio than you bought the truck for lol

Well at the monent, i have a nice Kenwood deck put in. And i took out the back speakers to put in the pioneer truck speakers i have (75 watts rms/200 peak with 8" sub and tweet in each). I am Pretty content with this setup, compared to stock lol. So for now i will keep this and start saving for my v8 swap. Then i will probably go with the polks all around and get an amp (any suggestions?).

Thanks guys for the help and suggestions. :)

any amp with a decent name (not sony, pyle, etc) that has an RMS per channel that matches up with your speakers should work just fine.

Ok so since the speakers are something like 125 watts rms each, i should be getting one that is a 4 channel amp with 500 watts rms (125x4)?

yeah just match the speakers at their specified ohm level.

if they are 125w rms @ 4ohms, go for something that will put out 80-150w rms @ 4ohms.

and yeah just go for a decent quality brand, or just post up your potential amps that you're looking at on here and people will give you their opinions.

good luck man :icon_thumby:
