clicking noise on start up

Lately I've noticed a clicking/clacking noise on start up. Right when I start it up I here this click click sometimes three times click click click only on start up then it runs fine. I don't like hearing this noise it doesn't sound healthy to me. Engine though is running fine. Its definatly not a pinging noise though. Its a 2.3 96 with about 135k.

I have that too. Believe its the lifters. Goes away after a few seconds and only when cold. I am not going to concern myself with it.

Lifters. As long as it goes away and doesn't keep doing so after driving a while, then you are fine. May want to double check the oil too. Sometimes if its a little low, it will do that and topping it off will make it go away.
