Ok so my left front locker clicks pretty badly. Is it broken or do I just need to clean it out? and if I do need to clean it, what is the easiest way? Thanks

Ok so my left front locking HUB clicks pretty badly. Is it broken or do I just need to clean it out? and if I do need to clean it, what is the easiest way? Thanks

I would take it off and take a looksy. Most likely the innards will look rather mangled.

I took off the locker and looked and it looked very greasy, I wiped off a lot of it but it still clicked. does it mean its broken? or did I not clean it enough?

The best solution is to replace that automatic garbage with manual hubs, you'll never have this problem again.

I have to agree. My autos gave me nothing but trouble. I serviced them several times. I took them apart right down to the bits. As far as I could determine, there was nothing wrong with them. They still clicked jumped and didn't unlock when they were supposed to, and overall were just crap.

Replaced them with a set of manual hubs and everything was fine after that.

well, the best deal is hard to say......

Mile Marker are good if ya just do occasional wheeling and are pretty near stock ( they are the cheapest that i have found )

Warn are the best if you want really good reliability and a lifetime warrenty, and wheel pretty often and have anything much larger than stock tires...yes they are a little pricier but you get what ya pay for:icon_thumby:

just my $.02

Actually the factory manual hubs are made by WARN.

MileMarkers are OK if you use 4x4 occasionally and lightly like in snow/fields.
If you want to do any wheeling definitely get warns.

Ok so I replaced the locker with another auto locker from a scrap yard (cuz i don't have much spending money) and cleaned out the excess grease, and the front left wheel still clicked. My friend said it might be the U-joint. any ideas?

First off there called hubs just to correct you. 2nd is I would look at getting the warn manual hubs. Best investment you can get. It will be more reliable, stronger.
