Clanking during higher rpms

Well it seems that I'm in luck, I just picked up a magnet on a retractable stick from harbor freight for all those times you drop a bolt down the worst place ever. I'll give that a whirl hopefully tonight.

I hope it's flexible. To drop down below the intake level and curl under to reach the valves is going to require a bit of a bend. I have two that are spring bodied and bend very nicely when needed.

If the object (if there is an actual object in there) is plastic (which I doubt) then you will need to switch to vacuum mode.

The intake is aluminum so a magnet will not stick to that on the way in...happy fishing...take picks if you catch a big one.

Don't really know what else it could be...other than a small exhaust leak...

Did you check that the EGR connection is tight? That will actually give you a similar sound under the right conditions...mine makes a kind of fart sound if one of the many connections is loose or a screw is missing (I fabbed it up out of copper pipe and about five different 45 or 90 degree bends)...

I'd check that before tearing apart your TB...

Well I don't think it's the EGR, after putting everything back on the truck was running crappy. After freaking out and lots of poking around I realized I didn't tighten the EGR connection. And in my fit of rage I made sure it was tight
