should i use some exaust clamps or weld my exaust? im a high school student, am haveing clutch work and u-joint work done..thats 358$ total. i need a muffler and tail pipe and want to do this cheap...thats why im useing a cherry bomb my friend bought me.:D

Either way can work, depends on the situation....

Also depends on the muffler manufacture. for instatance, if you buy a flowmaster and weld it into your sysytem and it rust out in 8 months the company won't warranty it because it was welded. Now if you clamp it and destroy it getting it off they will cover it.

Probably won't be an issue with a used cherrybomb.

From here on out unless it is a bolted flange I weld mine, otherwise it seems they always leak or come loose around the clamps when you do it yourself.

Either use stainless band clamps or weld it, U-bolt clamps are absolute junk and belong in the farthest reaches of hell.

The weld can crack if the shop you have it done at does a poor job of welding it to the pipes. Clamps can come loose and/or separate from the pipe due to vibration and expansion and contraction over endless heat cycles which can cause leaks. I've had all my aftermarket mufflers welded in place and I have never had a problem with doing so over my many years.

I agree it is just that I was burned for that simple fact with a flowmaster.
