Chrwilkins30's build

Called the guy and "someone" offered him 100 for just the gears. I said never mind then. he wanted me to pay 200 and it would need a complete overhaul.

That's crazy. Just keep looking.

I'm thinking just get both axles from the junk yard. Build them up and overhaul them, then buy the lift, And swap it all it eliminating down time. I wish I knew someone to set up gears cheap.

If you were closer to Fort Wayne I could do it for you.

Once I get the axles and all it would still be cheaper to get all the parts and pay you to install them. Fort Wayne isn't to far away. I'll prob get ahold of you when the times come and we can work out a deal if you'd like you make some side money.

Did a little work while TRS was down. When I did the sway bar bushing I notice an outer u-joint had tons of slack. Well something that should of take 2 hours max took all day.

After having to cut the u-joint itself and beating the caps out i found out the shaft was bent and the new caps wouldn't even go down far enough to get the clips in.

Also got the bronco a little muddy pulling out a 2wd f150 that and was axle deep. Mud didnt stay on long, a max of 5 hours.

Then the brown truck delivered a new package.

Just ordered everything from summit.:yahoo:

Will order the lift in a little bit.

Decided im going to go get a d35 now, going next week during spring vacation.

Got a question.

I looking to see what year this axle came from. ( forgot to look)
I did look on the door tag and It said 45 which is 3.55 R&P open.
How do I idenfity what year it is for parts with out using the axle tag. Its unreadable. I read in the tech library of it possibly being on one of the beams. Well none of my numbers matched up so here they are.

P 159 0 1
44066

Any Help!

The door tag should have told what year it was. too bad you didn't get it from "Pull-A-Parts", they mark all of their vehicles on what year they are, or at least the one in Knoxville, TN. does.

Robert

im glad our junkyards give out a printout of the year make model and vin for axles when i got mine. and gear ratios

I should have added that the door tag will tell you the year IF they are the factory doors, my 88 Ranger has 86 doors on it, so I pulled what door tag it had off.
