Does anyone know where to get a chrome front diff.cover ?
I had someone who was ordering one from somewhere in California, but gave up after apx 6 mths.when they never got it.
2003 Ford Ranger 4x4

why do you want a chrome front diff cover on a diff that no one can see?

:agree:

And, Do you know that there's not enough room to remove the cover unless you remove the whole axle?

I have no idea if they changed it for the IFS differential but when I got a rebuild kit for my TTB D35 it included a rear D35 gasket, which I thought was odd, but it fit over the holes on the TTB. You could try finding one for a 2001 Jeep TJ with a D35, thats what I had to compare the gasket against. But thats only if they didn't change it.

It'd be interesting if that worked, but otherwise like they said above, you'll never really see it.

the '98+ diff isn't anything like the rear Dana 35 diffs in the Jeeps...

Apx 4"can be seen w/superlift & yes it will be a tight fit.
Would still like to find one if anyone knows where.
Thanks

just an idea ,but what about a thin chrome D35 rear cover attached to the outside of the D35 front using longer bolts ,could that possable work for this guy

seeing as that I mentioned that I compared the 2 I had kinda realized it's a different differential housing all together (them being both right in front of me). However, it seems that the pattern for the cover (or beam for the TTB) didn't change between the two. The '98+ diffs are still a D35 so I figured I'd mention about my findings with the TTB D35 and the rear D35. Mayyyybe they're still the same.

Find some Jeep friends, they'll be happy for someone to take away their D35 stuff, set it up next to it as best as possible and see if they look similar enough, maybe even try putting the rear cover on just to see if it really does fit before buying a chrome one.

He's obviously decided that he wants a chrome cover, and he's decided it's important enough for him to attempt. It would be nice to see a little more help offered to the guy. It's his truck after all. :icon_thumby:

Allright Magnum, I'll help ya out.

I got my Jeep friends looking for a spare D35 cover that is just lying around, my co-worker who I am good friends with drives an '05 Ranger. I'll get under there and check it out, partly because I'm curious now too. Might be Wednesday before I get to check it out though unless they get back early Sunday.

Captain Ledd,
Thanks for your help.
