Chrome chip repair.

I have a small chip in my chrome grill. How could I repair it and make it shiny? I am heading up to the store tommorow AM...if I find something it would be great.

i believe its plastic, so u cant actually fix it as factory look... maybe a piece of vinyl, i've seen some that look like chrome

actually... that just gave me some crazy ideas...

Yeah it is plastic...but I've seen metallic spray paint in red and orange so thats what gave me the idea I could spray it. I'll look for some vinyl...it gives me plenty of ideas too! hahaha

those chrome paints dont go really chrome, they look more as polished aluminum, they look nice when recently painted, but then it starts fading and getting just plain gray, also if u apply clear coat, the chrome goes right away, looking even worst, in my own, the best option is the vinyl...

I've been meaning to test the chrome paint on some metal... want to prime, paint, paint,sand,paint,sand,clear,clear,sand,polish to see how well the chrome really does look.... it is an enamal after-all.

yeah good idea, try it, but i can tell u, that thing doesnt even get close to chrome, it looks near to chrome only when recently applied

I painted one of my 93's grill chrome trim with silver wheel paint, no clear.

It didn't look too bad.

I found some "chrom" rattle paint but I didn't trust it so I didn't do it. I'm still looking for the vinyl stuff but I can't find it. I guess I will have to live with the chip for a while until I find some other way to fix it.

Thats the chip...if you can even see it. Just to the right of the passenger headlight.
