Anybody else find their Ranger covered with a 1/4" of ice this morning?

Took me about two hours to clear the driveway...then I had to clean off the truck...another half hour...

We are "expecting" another inch or more tonight...

throw a tarp or something over the windshield and side glasses lol

Someone on the net said to mix vinegar and water two to one and put in a spray bottle for the windows, have yet to try it. I stocked up yesterday so staying in and staying warm.

Just move to a warmer state....and, what is snow and ice??....lol

No snow, no ice, just frigging rain here. I'd much rather it be snow, I could use some extra money.

we've been getting the same thing here. on friday we had 8 inches of snow on the ground. all of that's melted and it's been raining non stop. two inches of rain in 48 hours plus all the snow melt,it
s wet out there. looks like its letting up though, supposed to be back below freezing starting tonight.

mark- why dont you just grease up your windows with some crisco or something? :icon_thumby:

Hahaha...some good suggestions...might try some tonight as we are expecting more freezing rain...maybe someone can send me a can of sunshine to melt the driveway today...

After all that work yesterday it is now 2" of snow covered in ice...:annoyed:

I'm thinking of just driving over instead of smashing/shovelling...by the end of the winter my truck might be parked high enough that I won't have to bend down to plug in the block heater...

Plenty of power outages all across Ontario...not sure about the surrounding area but Quebec is in line for the storm...

Pretty good ice storm here in Illinois followed by a few inches of snow.

At least with a Ranger there is less window real estate to clear, though mine does have the bad habit of the doors freezing shut. I keep forgetting to coat the door rubbers with silicone.

Haha...after chipping off the ice today I managed to drive to the store (without wipers as the cowl area was packed with ice) and when I got out of the truck I did my usual lock the door and slam it routine...

When I came back out I found that I'd forgotten to clear the ice from the door lock...lol...fortunately, it just chipped off and I was able to open the door...

Silicone on the rubber is something I did regularly...but haven't done it for a while...will have to pick some up...:icon_thumby:

I thought that was when a truck got that.... "not so fresh feeling"?

Never knew it worked for ice.

:D

I thought I would be smart so I did that once, then we got freezing rain and I was trying to chip the thing off the window so I could scrap the ice out from under it.

The only real fix is a garage...

Haven't had much of an ice problem here in Idaho, woke up to 4" of snow about a week ago, most of it has melted now, I think there's about an inch left, and now its raining, snowing, and sleeting at the same time. Might be interesting in the morning. I have a Bronco 2, but doesn't really matter, its still a pain scraping ice off windows regardless of what vehicle it is. I know its far easier reaching the windshield on the B2 than it is on my Toyota Tundra.

Well, a side effect...without thinking, as is per usual in the morning, I tried to spray a bit of washer fluid on the windshield to loosen it up...and this usually works pretty good...or so I've found...

The problem was...my cowl was packed full of ice...so my wipers moved up to the fully up position...and stopped...I managed to chip the ice a bit and finally got them to come back down yesterday...thought they were free today since it didn't snow or rain last night...not...

I bought another 6 amp CB and tried swapping that out today...they wiggle at me as if to say :nono: but don't do much more than that...

So...I guess my travel plans for the Christmas Season are frozen...

About to kick myself in the butt for not covering that stupid cowl up years ago like I was going to do...:annoyed::annoyed:
