I want to check the timing on my 92 ranger but it says I am supposed to remove the in line spout connector. Where is it? Also how am I supposed to be able to see the timing mark if its all the way at the bottom of the engine? I also realize the timing is non adjustable but I just want something to do.

Timing marks are a pain to see when the motor is placed in the car, i would leave it alone and do something else if your just lookin for somethin to do

yeah just trying to get something out of my head that's been bothering me trying to stay busy.

i took a white wax pencil and marked up the area where the timing marks were on the crank pulley to make them easier to see but it was a real pain trying to find them. spout connector is going to be a small grey plastic piece plugged into a harness connector near the ignition control module. i believe it will be up hear the front of the engine compartment, behind one of the head lights sort of.
