ok here is my situation. I have a 94 Ranger 4x4, i can drive around town all day and it works great, but if i drive for an hour nonstop my check engine light turns on and starts to drive kind of rough. WHAT THE HELL CAN IT BE??? this is the only time when it the light turns on and it doesnt just stay on, it turns off then on then off again. no pattern of any sort. any ideas? please help.

something is getting hot i dont think that it will be the o2 sensor bacause the exaust stays hot and the sensor is made to take it. i would put it on a machine and see cause it could be something internal that can cause permante damage

Possible crank / cam sensor, ignition coil, or ignition module being affected by engine heat.

We are just pissing in the dark if you don't go ahead and pull your stored codes. Do that and we should know which direction to look.

thanks guys for your input. i will check all that this weekend. does anyone know if firestone can bull the codes from a 94 (OBD I)? or any other shop
