My check engine lights keep coming on for my 1999 Ford Ranger 4X4 with the 3.0 engine. The computer codes keep coming up EGR valve. I have replaced the EGR valve twice along with the EGR selonoid. I have also noticed a decrease in fuel economy. I have the vacuum lines and I have replaced the spark plugs. Any other ideas as to what to check or replace next? Thanks

check the 2 silicone hoses coming off the egr tube for being cracked or leaking. if they are ok replace the sensor attached to them. its called a DPFE sensor (delta pressure feedback)

I changed out the DPFE yesterday and reset the check engine light. I will see how long it stays off this time. Do you think this could have affected the gas mileage as well?? Thanks for your help.

Check all of your vacuum lines, and take a multimeter or an ohm reader to some of the EGR components. You also could plug your trouble code into the internet and see what others have done to correct the problem. Never know... Good luck man.
