so i picked up a dana 35 front diff with 4.10s to replace my 3.73s, its just the diff and i will be using my original cv's, hubs, and whatever....so my question is; is there a way to drop the center diff without removing the hubs/bearings, cuz they are a PITA. truck is a 1999

Shafts have to be pulled out of the center section (diff). So....if you're lucky, you should be able to pull the tires off, take the brakes off (support the caliper out of the way somewhere without disconnecting the brake line), unbolt knuckle and pull it out of the way, if you need...pulling the shaft with it.

so just unbolt the upper balljoint after tires and brakes?

I found out that the spindle only has 5 bolts holding it in. Once you pull the spindle off the shafts slide right out. I don't know if that's easier than a ballpoint but it would also work.

^ You're thinking TTB bro. This is IFS. He has the vaccuum hubs and hub assemblies. I would unbolt the pinch bolt upper balljoint, Knock it loose and remove the whole assembly. Should be very straightfoward.

haha actually i have those crappy avm manual hubs but same difference. thanks for the help, now i gotta find a exploder rear end with 4.10s to match and get this all together
