I was reading my Chilton Manual and it said that to change my ball joints I need to remove mt axle shafts. It said the entire front axle needs disassembled. Is there anyway around this? I don't have a lot of time to work with and the faster this goes, the better. Thanks! BTW 1994 4x4 Ranger, Dana 35.

No way around not pulling the axle shafts out. But they both just slide right out anyway.

the passenger side is, but you can take it apart at the slip joint where the boot is.

So the drives side axle will pull straight out and the passenger's side will pull apart at the slip yoke. This means I do not have to disassemble the differential. If these just pull apart what holds them in place?

yea drivers side will pull out, may leak some oil out tho. passenger side you will see a boot in the middle of the axle. just cut the metal band off the outer axle and u can pull that outer axle off. and leave the inner in the differential. when ur done use a hose clamp to tighen the boot back up, or do what i did and use a big zip tie lol

Yeup Kevin has it right :icon_thumby:

No need to dissasemble the diff.
