I bought a set of 2005 XLT seats (according to the p.o. of the seats) and swapped out my Edge seats over the weekend. Now, when I turn on the ignition, the air bag light flashes at me.

Should I have disconnected the battery? Or, did I forget to do something else?

The under-seat harnesses have been reconnected. :icon_confused:

TIA

I apologize, I should have done some checking first. Here's LINK to a You Tube video showing how to read the flashes.

Any chance anyone have a link that enumerates all of the possible codes?

I work at a body shop, when we have issues like this we have a company called "airbag services" come out and reset everything, not sure the cost on that though..

Seat belt pretensioners are part of the air bag system. Did you keep your original seat belts ? If you have used the pretensioners from a wreaked truck they may have been deployed or just the incorrect part for your Ranger. If you didn't use your original pretensioners I would try plugging them back in.

That was the solution, my truck likes its original pre-tensioners. Like the video, the dash light flashed "46" at me so I plugged the driver side pre-tensioner back into the harness. Then, the dash light flashed "47" at me so I plugged the passenger side pre-tensioner back in. No more dash light flashes.

So, either the truck didn't like the (supposedly) 2005 model year pre-tensioners or those seats had been in a wreck (but they show no signs of that). So, I guess I need to pull the seats back out and swap pre-tensioners. :annoyed:
