hey people i have a question about the change i want to make
i saw the 8.8 from ranger have 27 spines and the explorer 8.8 have 31 spines
i have broke my drum brakes ( yes broke in 2 pieces) becouse i have the hand brake on. pfff and accident
now i want the explorer 8.8, they have disc brake is better, but the question is, my gear and lock from the ranger axle fit in the explorer axle, remember the spines are diferent, or its better only to put the explorer brakes into the ranger axle ?? :dntknw:

The disc brakes are not going to tolerate leaving the parking brake on as well as the drum brakes will (the parking brake itself is much smaller on the Ex axle).

The gears from your Ranger 8.8 will fit an Explorer 8.8", the locker (differential carrier) will not though.

You would be better off with the Exploder axle but, it would require a new locker. The gears will fit. The brakes should fit either.

no, your Powertrax was designed for 28 splines, and will only fit a 28 spline shaft.

mayito if you are intrested in getting rid of the powertrax for the 28 spline I could take it off your hands :woot:
