Hello,
I have a 94 Eddie Bauer Ex...the intellegent guy before had put in a CD player...i took it out to install my new one...he rigged up some wierd wiring that i dont even want to try myself and id say im pretty good with doing that stuff.. but anyways im gettin alot of engine noise(that hiss) whenever the deck is on...is it just what he had the power coming from or what is there a way to get around it or should i just take it somewhere to have the new one put in the right way?
Thanks for the help
Nick

whoever did the last tune-up may have installed the wrong type of plugs (non-resistor)...which will cause radio noise.

spark plugs? i just changed those when i got the truck...got the ones for the engine ...i was thinking he had the power wire to the deck hooked up to something that may cause engine noise, i thought i remember hearing something like that when i took auto back in highschool

they probably gave you resistor plugs...but it wouldnt hurt to double check if you can (you'll have to ask the parts guys you got them from).

you should also check your ground and make sure its very solid. if you have a wiring schematic, you can trace the power wires back to the fuse block to see if its the original wiring or not. the original wiring shouldnt have noise problems...wheras power tapped from elsewhere might.
