Hi All...

A minor problem with my Ranger. I can't get my cargo light to work. Put in a new bulb and nada.
I was thinking of wiring the cargo light to the interior light, cuz I don't care if the cargo light comes on when I open the doors.
Anyone see any problems with this plan?

Amanda

In my ST the cargo lights come on when the doors are open. The ranger light only comes on when i turn the interior lights on via the knob on the dash. as long as you remember to turn it off and save the battery I do not think there would be any problem with it. good luck.

The switch I am refering to is the domelight switch that Ford installed for me in late November 2000. Therefore I belive there is a fuse or a relay on it.

Cargo Light

Hey
I got a 1996 Ranger, and I can't get the cargo light to come on at all. My headlight switch is a turn knob...not a pull out knob...and the dash lights are controlled by a little knob off to the side...but it want turn on any lights...other than dash lights! So where is the switch that turns on the cargo light?

Steven,
your cargo light is turned on by the dimmer switch next to the headlight switch.
Roll it till the dash lights are as bright as they can get then you should feel it click past, and you should have your cargo lights on.

Older rangers didn't have the 3rd brake light on the cab instead it was a cargo lamp u could turn on to see in the bed.
