Carbuerator or Fuel Injected? Which is better and why?

What about fuel dumping into just one cylinder? The remaining 5 would continue to power the engine...

The instance I heard of was a new 5.4 F-150, and injector stuck open while driving down the road and locked the motor up. Guy got a new one under warentee. They have since issued a recall for them.

I can and have diagnosed EFI stuff, for the most part I don't find either diagnosing or working on them particularly enjoyable. At least with a carb all your problems are situated in about one square foot on top of the engine, and a couple bolts and all your problems are now on your work bench. Mine seem to stay adjusted pretty well, but I neither do off camber stuff or tour in the mountains. For the day to day grind, or around the field they do fine for me. Again I would like to clarify that is EXLUDES the feedback stuff.

Dealership computers have dataloging capibilities that make the lowly code reader look like hammer. They can scroll thru various sensor readings as they happen, or go back in time (makes it interesting on some warrentee claims) and see what all was going on in the engine. Heck, you can even turn on the radio with them. Neat stuff, I wouldn't mind getting a Dash Hawk for my F-150, but they are a tad on the expensive side for a toy.

Only on TRS will people get into passionate arguments about fuel delivery.

Yeah...but having a discussion about fuel delivery makes life more interesting.

I think on Smokstak once we got into a discussion on which is better : Gasoline vs Kerosene in a dual fuel engine. Results were about the same: completely mixed.

DID I READ THAT RIGHT?

Yes. It is a 2.0 Ranger Head, ported with OS manley (2300) valves. There isn't an intake made that will flow what the head does so, I made one. I started making one for a dual plug head but, it is on a back burner. I'll post pics some day.

Most of the posts i've read against carbs are people that just plain don't understand them. If you have to replace the carb three times on any engine , you need an auto mechanic!!! I've had the same carb running flawlessly for over twenty years. I replace fuel injection parts every day (different vehicles).
I even played with the most hated Ford carb ever, The VV! I had one working flawlessly on the pony, until I broke it. I haven't had the ambition to build another as they're only like 250 cfm.
