carbed roller 302 /w T5

I am mulling over an engine swap on my 1986 ranger 4x4 (current 2.3 stick) .Well I put some wheels on my Ranger today and now I LOVE it again! So rather than go over to the DARK (YJ,TJ) side I am thinking of a V8 swap,nothing crazy ,just a carbed roller motor with a T-5 .I have put together a nice 347 and T-5 that went into a 88 fox,so I know that part ,what I have concerns with is the transfer case and trans. I am looking for the least swap trouble-not the cheapest but the easiest way-Like I know that d35/8.8 is needed but is there a way to use an off the shelf driveline as towing to a driveline shop is a deal killer. I work in a big shop and while these projects are frowned upon they are allowed -BUT they need to be done in a few days-BTW I am NOT a tech and I depend on the kindness of others to have this kind of stuff done

You don't have to change the rear differential to an 8.8. Lots of us stayed with the 7.5 until such time as we had to replace it, if at all. So just cross that "need" off your list.

With a "high end" 347,,,, you need an 8.8 with LSD....

I also want to run a 302/built T5 combo and keep it 4WD...problem is, Advance Adapters no longer makes the adapter plate to mate the T5 to the Borg Warner transfer case...it was discontinued.

Sooo...I guess the ONLY option would be to run a transmission and transfer case that were originally used for a 5.0...and then getting it all to fit.

I really was bummed when I found this out. I will NOT divorce the TC and go to 2WD!!!

Any advice, anyone???
