quick question, i have the intake and 2bbl carb from a 81 302. will this intake work if i were to take a late 80s say 88 or 89 fuel injected 302 and make it carburated with the intake i have.

I took the intake manifold and carb off my 69 and put it on my 86. There is a slight difference on the back of the block where the intake bolts down. The holes line up fine. It seals fine though

It'll fit as long as it's not one from a 255. Don't see why you'd want to do it though. Good cheap 4 bbl intakes are a dime a dozen.

You need to check the water ports in the heads. I've ran into it a few times. There are two different size ports. All the newer and aftermarket intakes have a large port but it seems the older heads will have a smaller port. The only issue is if you have intake gaskets for a large port on a small port head you will have a coolant leak. If that's the case, gaskets for any early 70's (pre-75 because both were offered that year) 302 will cure the problem.
