I am buying a motor from a Oreilly auto parts it has no intake manifold or carb. What would be the best carb and intake would work the best?

I have a Weiand Stealth and a 500cfm Edelbrock 1403 on my stock 302 and I like them.

Also running duraspark ignition too.

ok and another question what do i do with the wiring that is in the engine bay and under the dash. could i take it out and start over with msd ignition and stuff to keep it simple and not have all the other wires runnin every where?

I only used a few wires from the original wiring under the hood.
So the stock gauges would work. I kept the wires for the oil pressure and temp sensors. Also kept a few that were 12 volts with key on to power the ignition, fan and any other relay you may use/need. All others were removed from under the hood.
I did not touch any under the dash and left the ECU to keep the rear ABS.

If you gonna use the stock guages use the sending units off the old engine if you can Isolate the wires needed for oil and coolant and alternator and cut any wires a little long for future use just in case.

Ford A321, Weiand Stealth, Edelbrock RPM, Ford C9OX, Shelby "Cobra" high rise, any of these topped with a Holley 570 Street Avenger would be my choice. Can't go wrong with any of these intakes, they're all high rise dual planes and work on stock to hot 302's from idle to 6500 rpms.

it's all really in where you want to make the power at. use a single plane intake for low end power like a edelbrock rpm. or if you want power on the top end get a edelbrock air gap dual plane. 500-600 cfm carb for either set up. i perfer holley carbs.

Usually the single/dual plane thing is the opposite of what you say.

The Edelbrock RPM is a dual plane. As is the Airt Gap RPM.

i dont know why i said rpm. i meant performer
