How do you modify the engine or car parts of your car so it will consume less gas? I would appreciate if someone can provide me with some useful modification tips. Thanks in advance.

If you're driving what you have in your avatar I don't think you really need to worry too much about saving gas...

Otherwise...haven't heard of such mods other than a smaller motor, less pedal to the metal, keep it under 100 Kph (60 MPH for those who are metrically challenged), keep the windows closed, toss out the passengers, and you can throw out about 100 lbs of seats that nobody needs when they don't sit in your car...

BTW, what car do you drive...it might help to know if there are any real mods you can make./././

It's easy... do as much weight reduction as possible including removing the engine and transmission, then cut a hole in the floorboards in front of the drivers seat. Running shoes for highway travel and hiking boots for more aggressive terrain.

The best thing to do for gas consumption is to install a vacuum cauge. And learn how to use it.

and dont load your car up with a bunch of crap, as light as possible
and be light on the gas(which is what the vac gaudge is for)

Best mpg mod for the dollar is a lower-restriction exhaust (says Jim Allen, whose word I trust).
I have a 2008 Sport Trac and added a Gibson cat-back single system. It is rated at 19 mpg highway but with the cruise set on 70 I get 22. City mpg isn't any different.
Otherwise, just keep it in tune and synthetic fluids will help a smidgen.
If it is out of alignment that will cost some mpg as well from the extra drag created by the wheels.
Oh, and Barack Obama says to make sure your tires have the proper amount of air in them.

So Fred Flintstone gets great mileage?

Interesting.
