I was so mad when I tried for half an hour with my hammer to bang off passenger side rotor. I went to check drivers side and it comes off no problem. So mad. Anyone have any ideas? I even tried to C Clamp on side to arm while I bang the crap out of other side of rotor hoping the pressure would help. I just bought new pads and rotors and I'm driving new pads on my old rotors... This sucks. Nothing is ever easy in rust country. I forgot to siphon some fluid from master cylinder so it over flowed... Ill have to wash that off before it soaks in.

you dont have the little round clips they put on the studs from thefactory? just a thought ive seen it more than you would think.

When this happened on my f-350 i put a steel rod in between the frame and the rotor and then started the truck and turned the wheel so that the brake disc would hit the rod and it would force it off. Worked great.

Bigger hammer and some PB Blaster. I use a 6# sledge at work, lever lets me down.

That rod idea sounds good.
I also seen a video when searching YouTube of a guy using 2 grade 8 bolts backwards(nut towards rotor) through the caliper bracket and tightening till it popped off. I could picture accidentally bending one of the hub bolts using the turn wheel into bar method, I guess I'd just have to not be stupid when doing it. But pb blaster won't get to where I need it to soak in that's for sure.
I'm gonna try the grade 8 bolt trick tomorrow, watching video made it look easy of course.

Ohh **** wait, I got a friggin dust shield, that ruins my bolt idea from YouTube... I'm gonna have to do the steering wheel trick. Hope it works... Its hard to get a good swing from a truck that's only on jack stands. If I had a lift I'd be baseball bat swinging that mofo.

Rust really sucks. If nothing else works take an angle grinder and cut them off. if you make a really good score mark across the middle they will usually break into a few pieces, but they will come off.

If rust is this damned strong why is my truck falling apart?

when you put the new rotor on put 4 or 5 spots of anti seize on the back of the rotor where it meets the hub.......

x2, did that on my rear rotors just in case. but we dont have rust problems down here

If you haven't broken the friction plate off from the hub part, you aren't hitting it that hard. Get a bigger hammer and SMASH! If the plate breaks off, then use a cutoff wheel and slice what's left and it's done.

Ya tomorrow I'm gonna try. I had to go to my sisters and replace her brake pads. No pad left, all metal... I know her rear drums are gone. I know crap about drums. Hate old cars with drums. I really wanna do the 8.8 or 9 inch swap so I can get me some rear disc brakes...
