I replaced my tank a few weeks ago, along with the pump/sending unit, and a new filler neck tube. last night I went to put gas in the truck and it came right back out-at the top of the filler tube where the gas cap screws on.

I could not put the nozzle on the first click, gas spewed out. I tried filling up slow, but gas still spilled out.

I stopped at 3 gallons, but I really don't know how much gas I got into the truck, as most of it was on the ground and on the side of my truck. (my fuel guage doesn't work, but thats in another thread)

this is the third time I filled up after I replaced the tank. I never had this happen before.

any thoughts?

Check your filler tube. There should be one tube inside another, make sure they both hooked up using high pressure clamps

Well the vent tube(smaller tube) next to the filler tube could be clogged up but usually that will slow the filling of the tank not cause a kick back of fuel coming out.

Sure reads like something is blocking the filler tube

figured it out. there was a kink in the tube between the top off the frame rail and the bottom of the bed. put 13 gallons in it, no problem.
