I figured I'd post this in tire section because I was told my tires are to blame.
I went to get alignment and they told me because my tires are 265/75/16 and not the stock size of 245/75/16 they could only adjust TOE angle. People go from 15 inch rims to 24 inch rims, yet because my tire is 20 taller they can't do it?
I'm thinking this shop isn't where I should be going. Is this where I get recommended to a 4x4 shop? Lol.
I didn't get it but I did find out from them after replacing my outer tie rod u need to replace my inner too.

That's horseshit. Take it to a shop that specializes in alignments, they'll be able to do it. Around here you'd be looking at 60-65 dollars out the door.

Ya, around here half the shops suck. At least if I work the corner I get paid to get ****ed.
Gotta figure out my no cold blowing ac next... The only place around me by google that specializes in suspension is pepboys. I guess I'll just ask shops around here if they can do it.

any monro will do it if you go to east prov ri monro we can do it i dont know how far it is from lynn so it up to you

Idiots. Tire size has nothing to do with alignment angles whatsoever. I wouldn't let them touch your truck for anything. They obviously don't know what they're doing.

Thats bullcrap.

Take your hard earned money somewhere else where morons like that can't ream you.

I one time had a technician tell me that not having a swaybar meant he wasn't going to be able to align my truck.

I told him pack sand jerk off and went somewhere else, where they DID align it.

:icon_thumby:

I went to town fair tire and got it done for 69.99. I got my front swaybar removed, didn't affect it too much. Rear next... I need new rims... But I don't wanna go to 15's cause my $824.00 in tires will be useless since they are 265/75/16... Trying to find info on if a 2004 ranger rim, the new style, will fit. That and the front suspension parts I have should fix my vibrating at highway speeds completely, and the bumpsteer.

You should check out the wheels that I have for sale in the classifieds-they'll definetly work on your truck with that size tire. I could meet you half-way for pick-up.

It was explained to me that on 1998-11 Rangers camber/caster is non adjustable and "alignment cams" have to be installed. My 2007 Ranger needed these cams installed because the camber was off.
The shop should have people trained good enough to know this or even look it up.

Now this I believe. I'm pretty sure it's true for the F-150s as well.

Searching!

I would get your rims if I had a newer or nicer looking ranger. I am looking for stock to just something decent. Actually hoping for 2+ rims of same type to replace front ones.
