Im not gonna live my whole life im two small towns in Georgia and south carolina my whole life time to explore...somebody tell me about the northwest US and the British Columbia, Alberta Canada area. i need something really different. what do you have to do to move to Canada if you are from the US?

Start there ^

I haven't been out west, but I spend alot of time in Atlantic Canada and had wanted to move there a couple years back on a work permit, you have to have a job offer and a company to sponsor you in order to be able to move/work there legally. I found a place that said they wanted to hire me but they never followed through (lots of paperwork.) There are other visas if you have immediate family or are going to marry a Canadian citizen. I have family there but nobody close enough to sponsor me as a family member. Now my Canadian boyfriend and I are talking about getting married so he can move to the states. LOVE Canada but there's more going on down here, and New Hampshire has cheap gas, car insurance, and beer among other reasons (those are important when you're both obsessed with cars, well maybe not the beer part of it!)

Things are generally more expensive up here, and things have slowed down here business wise, but it's pickin back up.

Born in sask, raised in Alberta and while I love Alberta....I like the wheelin and terrain in BC and if there was guarentee'd work out there similiar to what I do now I'd be willing to make the move.

http://bb.bc4x4.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5 here is some of the good stuff for you! Awesome hiking ,fishing 4x4ing, skiing , hunting ,mountainbiking ,boating, some of the most beautiful country in the world ,great people , laid back lifestyle .........

Growing up in the prairies, Saskatchewan to be exact, then picking up and moving to BC was the best thing I did. British Columbia has the most beautiful scenery I have ever experienced, and everything that I could ever enjoy doing. The terrain allows for so much, it's amazing. While I'll be the first to admit the whole "employment" thing is a little lacking right now, I wouldn't trade it for anything. I ride mountain bikes while there is little enough snow to ride on, snow wheel in winter, snowshoe, etc. Summer is full of wheeling, mountain bikes, dirt bikes (a few tracks around, and trails aplenty if that's your thing) exploring, hiking, fishing, camping on a mountain... you name it! I don't really have a lot of links to post or anything... but if you need pictures, I can take those!

hey so i checked the weather in Red Deer...... Andrew exactly how fawkin cold is -9 degrees F? :shok::shok: im in a shorts in Georgia right now... lol i dont know i just figured why live in the same place with the same people my whole life? while somewhere in america would be great too, id like to see the more of the world. like i have no clue how to ride a snowmobile but it looks cool. and wheeling is a passion and that can be done almost anywhere. the Canadiens ive met so far seem really easy going an thats how i am. ive kinda got it narrowed down to the western Canada northwest USA area

Yeah. I've seen -9 a few times up here in NH and it's pretty cold. Most of the time, winter temps here run in the high teens to low 30's.

Well, ive lived here in the pacific northwest my whole life and i must say, im like you. Its fricken boring here and i want to move out soon. Somewhere down south, more warm and and all that. The scenery here is...well, if youve never been here, it would be beautiful, but to me, its dull and drab. Sure, theirs a lot of hills and trees, but its only one species of tree...

anyways, ya theirs a lot to do up here i guess, but the democrats have been making things way more strict up here. My advice, stay away from seattle at all costs if you do end up here.

other then that, the weather in winter is from the teens to the high 40's. Some times it snows one year, other years it wont. Summers are generally hot and humid. And yes, it does rain a lot. We have weird weather here some times, and its hard to explain. Anyways, thats all i got.

We usually put the shorts away and are wearing pants.:icon_twisted:

-40 is great. That's when you develop 2 lumps in your neck area. After further investigating said lumps, you find out they are your testicals.

Spoken like a true Canadian. I love it up here. Pristine country and more Rangers than you can imagine. Rangers, Xterras and silver Corollas are the main trainsport of choice. Worst case scenario: Alaska. To me it is a chunk of Canada you guys are storing for us. The terrain is the same and the people even seem a little more Canadian.:D

Buncha crazy Canucks! :icon_twisted:

I've only had the pleasure of visiting Canada once in '01, anf that was on a band/chorus trip. We stayed in Ottawa the first night, then drove down to Toronto, and performed at Canada's Wonderland a day later.

The natives are friendly. :icon_thumby:

Where I live it can go all the way from -45 to plus 35. That's Celsius.:shok:
