I have always wanted to punch "Sid The Kid's" stupid face, just for having a stupid face.

The Penguins beat my Wings last year, and now he gets the game winner for gold. Now I really want to punch him.

Canada totally deserved gold. The game wasn't anywhere near as close as the score would imply. They outplayed us in every way for the entire game. Our power play was pathetic - taking the puck straight up the center of the ice, only to get it poked away and cleared. It took a desperation play - with an extra attacker - just to score in the final seconds and postpone the inevitable loss. It looked like Canada was playing with an extra skater the entire game.

Congrats, Canada!

On the bright side, we still had a great tournament. Being the 2nd best team on planet Earth is nothing to be ashamed of. And Red Wing/Dearborn native Brian Rafalski dominated big time.

In this case, for us it would be. When we're playing against the US, it's either gold or nothing. If we had lost the gold medal game against say, Finland, I think we'd be a little happier with silver.

But there's just something about the hockey rivalries that our two great countries have that for me means Gold or Bust.

I agree wholeheartedly, They were some pictures of Canadian soldiers in Kandahar holding up signs that said "Canada and USA, brother in arms but not on the ice". We are basically the same and I like it that way

Yes, the world is a dangerous place. Lots of nuts out there. For North America to stay secure both our countries have to work together on many fronts. Canada and the USA are basically connected at the hip. Our interests mostly are parallel.

Hockey in the States has come a loooooooooooooong way. Even you Canadian hockey nuts have to admit that. I am 49. I can remember when there wasn't even an American in the NHL. I am so old I saw the 1980 winter Olympic triumph by the USA.

Since now I know there are a few of us who don't particularly care for "Sid the Kid" and his "good, but not nearly as good as everyone says he is-ness".

You must have comprehension problems. Never did I state that there is a problem in North America. Ever hear of Iraq or Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iran, Syria or North Korea? Or any of the vacation destinations the US military is currently deployed? American and Canadian soldiers have their hands full in Afghanistan if you haven't heard.
